Well a lot has been going on since I posted last (doesn’t help that the last time I posted was over 2 weeks ago, whoops!). My little girl has been growing like crazy, and almost weighing in at 12 pounds. We went to the doctors yesterday for our check ups and she is doing great, and so am I, which was reassuring to hear. I also got the official go ahead from my doctor to begin doing whatever workout I want. YAY!!! So today was the day I began a new program.
As excited as I was to start my new program today, I put Bean down for her morning nap at 8:30 and it took all that was in me to keep my butt of my comfy Lazy Boy recliner and just relax (I forget what this word even means ;)). But I ended picking up my Bowflex weights and started Day 1 of James Wilson’s program. I realized that sitting on a chair isn’t going to get me to my goals. Life is busy, and you won’t find time to workout, you have to make time. My health is extremely important to me, and especially now since I am caring for my daughter. I want to be a good example for her, and want her to grow up watching her parents live a healthy lifestyle, and hopefully want to carry it on. I feel even more responsibility to keep my body healthy, not just for appearance wise, but to be there for my daughter, to be able to chase her around the park, play sports with her, and just living every day life. I want her to be able to see that being strong is important.

I will do my best to be diligent to post updates on how my progress is going. With breast-feeding I have NO goal of weight loss, just a goal of gaining my muscle mass back, which in turn I suppose I will probably have to increase my calories, because let me tell you, I can never get full while breast-feeding. Lucky for me, because I LOVE to eat! I will also be avoiding any crunches or twisting ab exercises since I did develop diastasis recti while pregnant, and from what I have read, doing these exercises will only make it worse.
I decided that I needed a program, because if I just do my own thing, I don’t stick to it, or don’t remember what workout I did the days before hand.
If you are wondering when to start, NOW is a great time! Don’t wait to begin your journey to health. You don’t need any magic diet pill or drink, all you need is some good old-fashioned hard work and healthy eating!
I hope you all had a great week and are ready for the weekend! Choose the beginning of September as your time to start!
