Well I am happy to announce I have made it almost another whole week! I am feeling so much more positive and optimistic, and have realized that having to be on bed rest isn’t the end of the world. There are so many mother’s and mother’s to be out there that are wishing the worst that had happened to them was a few weeks of laying on the couch watching Netflix (and maybe a few episodes of Days of Our Lives ;)). So my pity party is over! I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday, along with having an ultra sound and getting to see my baby again, which is always amazing. I have so many things to look forward to, my parents and in-laws are coming this weekend. My mom always knows how to make me feel better! Even though I can’t do much of anything for the long weekend, I am comforted by the feeling my mom and dad will be here just to spend some quality time with us.
I snuck off the couch to take my weekly picture of our baby girl! Despite being on bed rest I am still feeling amazing! Looking forward to the next few weeks of watching my baby grow bigger!
On another note, I hope everyone is ready for the weekend, a long one that is! But don’t use it as an excuse to overindulge and come Monday feel like crap and decide that “your diet starts on Tuesday”! Pick one day to indulge in your favorite things, garlic bread, loaded baked potato, or dessert and maybe a couple of drinks :). This way you won’t have to “start over” come Tuesday. If you choose everyday as a day to indulge you may feel like crap come the end of the weekend. You can still enjoy camping and other events without eating sugary, salty or unhealthy fatty foods, it just takes a little more time to prepare. Make a veggie and fruit tray ahead of time, prepare some homemade granola bars, wash and cut up any extra fruit and veggies you will need, pre-make a salad dressing, and cut up sweet potatoes and toss in some coconut oil, dash of sea salt, and whichever spices you like in a Ziploc bag until you are ready to bbq them. Bring along lean cuts of meat, and/or pre-made bean burgers. Make sure to bring items to snack on, almonds, raw sunflower seeds, unsalted peanuts, hummus for your veggies, and homemade muffins/cookies/bars. I know this may seem like more work than it takes to go camping in the first place, but it is so worth it for you and your body! If you prepare ahead of time, you can take the time while you are camping to relax. Don’t use weekends or camping as an excuse to blow all the hard work you have put in all week long, and instead treat it like any other day.
I hope everyone has a great and safe long weekend :)!
