A Visit Home, A New Baby, A Bridal Shower and A New Recipe!


Good Afternoon!

I know I have been quiet this last past week and a half, but for good reason, I promise! Although it didn’t allow for a lot of social media time, it did allow for a lot of well needed time with my whole family, and of course my new baby niece! My sister and brother-in-law blessed us with a new niece one week ago today. Being part of this experience makes me more than excited to welcome my little girl into this world.

My husband, my mom and myself also went baby shopping to prepare for our little one. Lets just say, our vehicle was full to the roof, literally! I decided to take the week off of working out and help train my dad instead, which I loved every minute of! I truly know it is my passion in life (until my baby comes :)). My mom and I, also threw my sister-in-law to be a wedding shower. I had an amazing time, and got to see my aunties, cousins, and others I haven’t seen forever! My sister-in-law is going to make an incredibly beautiful bride, and I can’t wait to be part of their celebration! I also got to visit with my brother who just graduated from chemical engineering and am extremely proud of him (at least one of us got the brains ;))

We never seem to have enough time when we go home to visit, but it was nice to get to spend some quality time with our friends and family!

*If you can tell, behind our dogs, we are full to the rafters! They had to share the middle row with the crib mattress :).

The nursery so far (it looks so much cuter in person). We have some pictures to still hang up, but it is becoming more and more real everyday, that when I walk into this room, our little girl will be lying there.

Today marks 31 weeks (and one day ;)) already! I can’t believe how fast time has gone and baby and I are growing everyday! I am still feeling great, but have slowed down at the gym. I am going 3-4 times a week and doing cardio (yes I said cardio), body weight exercises and some light weight exercises. I still continue with my clean eating making sure I am getting the proper nutrients. My poor digestive track can’t keep up with the amount of food I eat! And thank goodness for afternoon naps, it gets tiring growing a little person!

Now I have a super easy and yummy (almost too much so) recipe to share with everyone! I made it for the bridal shower and it was a hit! I don’t have a picture, but let me tell you it tastes better than it looks!

Avocado Salsa Dip

3 ripe avocados

1/2 yellow onion chopped finely

3 garlic cloves

lemon juice from 1/2 a lemon

1 medium jar of salsa (try to find organic and sugar free if possible)

1. Add avocados to bowl and mash

2. Add the rest of the ingredients and combine. You can make it as smooth or chunky as you wish. If you want a smooth dip, you could always put it in the blender. Enjoy!
