I know the word “fat” scares some people, but healthy fats, including coconut oil, can actually help aid in fat loss. Now I was never a coconut fan, but this stuff is amazing! You can use to it in baking or cooking. I love to toss my shrimp in it along with some Mrs. Dash and it is to die for! Since it is high in fat, you don’t need to use a lot, but I highly recommend trying it. I also use a teaspoon of it on top of a fresh slice of Polka Dot Banana Bread.
You can check out this article by Dr. Mercola explaining the benefits of coconut oil. Although he does endorse his own brand, the brand below is the one I have in my cupboard and love it. You can usually find it or other brands similar at your local health food store, or even at the grocery store. Dr. Mercola – Benefits of Coconut Oil
Another product I am in love with is Skinny B! You can add it to your yogurt, baking or use it as a breakfast cereal (I add cinnamon, almond milk, two drops of stevia, and sometimes blueberries). It is a great way to get in some of your dietary fiber and iron.
Yesterday was Back and Biceps day (day 16 of the Livefit Trainer) and let me tell you I am SORE today! I try to increase my weight every two weeks. Sometimes one or two months can go by while you continue to lift the same weight, and you want to keep seeing results. So a great way to keep seeing results and reaching your goals, is to record your workouts, either in your phone or a notebook. That way you can go back and see what weight you were lifting and increase from there. It is also a great idea to keep a daily food log along with your workout. Keeping a food log is a great way to keep yourself honest, and be able to tweak things if you are not getting the results you want.
Back & Biceps Day = SORENESS
