Fashion and fitness can tend to be a controversial subject. Women automatically judge each other based on appearance, and the in the gym is no exception. Whether she is decked out in Lululemon head to or wearing baggy sweat pants and t-shirt, there are opinions formed. Either she looks like she is ready for a fashion show or she doesn’t give a crap at all what she looks like. I personally don’t give a shit what others are wearing, they are not there for me and I am not there for them, what they wear isn’t going to effect my workout. I tend to find myself somewhere in the middle of these two styles. I love myself a pair of Lululemon Run: Inspire Crops (they need to be pulled up constantly, or down ;)), an Under Armour tank, a cute Nike or Lululemon sports bra, and my hair pulled up and out of my face. I don’t dress like I am going to a fashion show by any means, but when I look good, I feel good, and that’s the point of working out isn’t it? I am not trying to impress anyone, I do it for myself and the way it makes me feel. So when you reach a goal, don’t treat yourself with food, treat yourself to a new some new gym gear. Which brings me to share with you my new gear I picked up at Lululemon and SportChek.
I picked up a Run: Swiftly 1/2 zip and a pair of Run: Sprinter crops at Lululemon. I like to reward myself with clothing because lets face it, who doesn’t love cute workout clothes, and plus it gets me excited about getting into the gym.
I also picked up a pair Nike pants at SportChek. I can’t wait to wear my new finds!
Now for the smoothie of the day. This recipe is courtesy of my wonderful Mama and sounds seriously delicious!
Cherry Cantaloupe Smoothie
1/2 cantaloupe, peeled, seeded and sliced
1/2 cup apple juice or apricot juice (can use almond milk or coconut water as well)
2-3 pitted cherries
1/4 cup raspberries or blackberries
Blend until smooth!
I hope you all have a wonderful night and while you are sitting on Facebook tonight send me your favorite smoothie recipe ;)!
