I know, I know! I have missed 3 days in a row!! But as you know, we were visiting our families and I don’t get to see them very often, so I wanted to spend as much time with them as I could. I know you will all forgive me ;). You also know, I always make it up to you, so today I have 3 smoothie recipes for you. You are so lucky ;). I picked up the new Oxygen “Your Flat Belly Guide” today and came upon some great smoothie recipes that I will share below.
The first one is a smoothie that tastes great and helps burn fat!
Tropical Fat Burner
1 cup pineapple juice
1 tbsp low-fat yogurt
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
Toss all ingredients into a blender and puree until desired consistency.
*If you are watching your sugar intake I would replace the juice with either water or milk.
Below is another shake from the magazine and has one of my favorite fruits…KIWI!
Kiwi Honeydew Shake
1 medium kiwi fruit
1/4 cup diced honeydew melon (can use frozen as well)
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1 scoop whey protein isolate powder
1/4 tsp orange flavor extract (can omit)
1 tbsp chia seeds
Ice cubes as desired
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend to desired consistency. Use the blenders grind function to help smooth the chia seeds. You may find it helpful to grind the chia seeds first.
The next shake is a concoction I came up with. If you are missing your blended Starbucks drink, give this one a try! It has saved me a few times!
Spiced Chai Latte
1/2 cup water
1 chai teabag
1 scoop vanilla protein
1/2 cup almond milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1. Steep chai teabag in water for 15-20 minutes. Remove teabag from water, and pour water into blender.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients into blender and blend until smooth.
I hope you all had an amazing and HOT weekend! We had a week/weekend full of hot weather, lots of family time and got to meet our friends new baby! She is sooo incredibly cute. But I am back to work and CROSSFIT tomorrow! As odd as it sounds I can’t wait to go get my butt kicked!
