And a beautiful day it is! It is so hot and I am loving it! I apologize AGAIN for missing a post yesterday! The reason this time – we were traveling back home to visit friends and family, and HAD to stop at the mall on our way ;). It feels nice to have some time off to visit everyone and soak up the sun. Today included a chest & triceps workout followed by 18 holes of golf. As it is so hot outside I wanted to share a couple of recipes to help you beat the heat!
The first one is an iced coffee drink to cool you down and give you some extra energy in the afternoon.
Vanilla Iced Coffee
1/2 cup almond milk
1 cup coffee, cooled
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Place almond milk, coffee, cinnamon and whey into a blender and blend until mixed well. Poor into glass and add ice cubes.
Next is a smoothie to make you feel like you were in the tropics
1/2 cup coconut water
1/2 coconut milk (if you cannot find this, use 1 cup of coconut water)
1/2 cup pineapple
1 scoop of vanilla protein (or 1/2 cup Greek yogurt)
1 cup ice
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
