I Did It!

Did what? I can proudly say I have 4000 hits on my blog! To some people it may not seem like a lot, but never did I think I could make this happen! This blog has been a stepping stone on my journey to health. A place where I can share my thoughts, workouts, my favorite – FOOD, and the most important, it helps to keep myself accountable. I can still remember the first post I ever wrote. I was sooooo nervous to hit publish and put myself out there for whomever decided to give my blog a chance, to either accept me or criticize me. But to my pleasant surprise, I have only been met with positivity and encouragement! To me my blog is like an online journal that everyone can read ;). I love being able to share my journey and help others. I also would like to thank every single person that takes the time out of their day to read my blog, share their comments and recipes. I love when others share some of their knowledge and ideas with me, as I yearning to constantly learn new things. So please continue to share your thoughts, recipes and if you are feeling brave, your TRANSFORMATION PICTURES!

For my smoothie today, I am going to share an oldie, but a goodie. It was the first smoothie I had ever made and stuck with it for a long while. The reason I am going to share it is because another one of my wonderful Aunties messaged me and said “Okay, I don’t have a shake for you because I have stayed with the tried true that you showed me in Arizona. We have tried different ones and didn’t like them”. I am so happy to hear that they loved it and still do! BUT, instead of sharing a smoothie recipe with me, she shared a No-Bake Energy Bite recipe with me, so I will share both below.

Very Berry

1 cup almond milk

1 – 2 cups spinach

1 scoop vanilla whey protein OR 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 cup frozen mixed berries

1 – 2 tbsp chia seeds/flaxseed

Blend all ingredients until smooth.

No-Bake Energy Bites

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup ground flax seeds

1/2 cup peanut butter (or almond butter)

1/3 cup honey

1/3 cup chocolate chips (or carob chips)

1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix all ingredients and chill in fridge for 30 minutes.

Roll into balls and keep refrigerated.

I hope you all have a wonderful night and get some good zzzzzz’s. My husband, dogs and I are heading to see our families tomorrow for 5 days, and I can’t wait!!!!! But we are making a quick stop for an early morning crossfit WoD before we head out!
