I want to wish my Dad and all the other Dads out there, a very Happy Fathers Day! I might be a little biased, but I think I have the best Dad in the world! He is always there for me, during the good, the bad and the ugly. He supports me, even when he might not completely agree with my decisions. He has taught me so many things in life and about life. He’s pushed me to do things that otherwise I might have done. My house would also not look like it does without him (I seem to always find him a project when he comes to visit!). Happy Fathers Day Dadio!
Okay, in case you haven’t figured it out by now, I’M BACK! I had an amazing time fishing with my Husband and another wonderful couple! I didn’t want to come home, it is the most peaceful and serene place I have ever visited. Getting there takes some work, an 8 hour drive and 30 minute float plane ride into the lake, but that is half the fun and completely worth it! If you are wondering if I wavered from my eating, the answer is NO (did I trick you? ;)). I had breakfast every morning upon waking, consisting of 1/2 cup of oatmeal and blueberries and one egg with 4 egg whites. I brought clean snacks (larabars, apples, carrots, almonds) and lunches (chicken sandwiches) on the boat, and suppers usually consisted of fish and either chicken or steak and asparagus. I will admit, I did have a few cocktails, but nothing too crazy. Just so there isn’t any rumors going around, the girls won the “who could catch the largest fish” bet! I caught the largest Jack fish and my friend caught the largest Walleye! But on a more serious note, this trip was just what I needed, I was able to unwind, relax, and be around a few really great people! I can’t wait to do it all again next year.
Since I have been holding out on you all for a week, I thought I would share a couple of recipes today! Since it is Fathers Day and my Dad loves peanut butter, I want to dedicate the recipes posted below to my Dad!
I found this recipe on Little B’s healthy habits blog, and it is sooo good! The only thing I changed was that I didn’t add Truvia, because I didn’t have any in my home, but they still turned out amazing! Make sure to check out her blog, she has really good clean recipes and workouts!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to start another great week! My husband and I will be starting Phase 1 of the Livefit Trainer tonight at the new gym (why wait until Monday)! I am excited to see what kind of results we get from following the Trainer and not having to waiver, due to lack of equipment or space.
Have a wonderful evening, and make sure you pack your lunches and get your gear ready for your workout tomorrow!
I thought this quote was perfect!
