Just the Way You Are

Good Evening!

Tonight I want to share something I was thinking about earlier today… Why is it so hard to be happy just the way we are? We always have a goal, may it be wanting to be skinnier, more toned, or for some, gain weight, and if we don’t set goals in life we will have nothing to achieve. Where I am going with this is, on our journey to obtaining our goals, why can’t we be happy and proud of ourselves every step of the way, not just when we have reached our goal. No, we may not be at our goal weight or body shape at this present moment, but we should take the time to appreciate our own selves and how hard we work each step of the way. There is no guarantee you will be happy when you achieve your goal, so why not embrace yourself inside and OUT now. Have a positive self-image of yourself, and appreciate everything your body does for you. Start to love yourself for who you are now and you will love yourself before you even reach your goal! When I look back at pictures of myself, and think “why did I think I was fat then?” and “I would be happy if that is what I still looked like”. Why couldn’t I just be happy with myself then, instead of having to look back and think “Why was I so hard on myself”. I suppose hind sight is 20/20. So the moral of my story is, love and be happy with yourself every step of your journey, you don’t have to wait to reach your goal to feel those things. Be happy and be healthy!

Now what comes with loving yourself, is feeling sexy. I know every women wants to be sexy (well I think I know this ;)), and being sexy isn’t about how much you weigh or what you look like. Sexiness comes from within, and the confidence you exude, so from now on ladies, be sexy! If a certain dress makes you feel sexy wear it! If wearing your hair down makes you feel sexy, then wear your damn hair down! But like JT likes to say “Get your sexy on” because you are “Bringing Sexy Back”!

Now I will share with you a recipe I baked tonight! I am not sure why I continuously do these things to myself on a weekly basis but I made some almond butter cookies tonight, and they are sooo good (that may be an understatement!). Although they are clean, I would limit yourself to a couple (you may have to have someone else eat or lock away the rest!) Anyways enough teasing and time for sharing!

Almond Butter Cookies

Of course I made a couple of changes due to the ingredients I have in my home:

1) I substituted the whole wheat flour for 1/2 cup almond flour and 1/2 cup protein powder

2) Substituted 1/2 cup of Maple Syrup for 1/2 cup of honey

3) Used vanilla extract instead of almond extract

4) I baked them for 7 minutes, instead of 8-10 minutes, as I prefer my cookies a little bit doughy.

Needless to say, they turned out amazing!


I also tried out the Crock Pot Steel Cut Oats recipe, and it is delicious! I highly recommend this recipe, especially to those who are short on time in the mornings. All you have to do is reheat the oats, and could add some milk and fruit of your choice. You can even eat them cold, if that is your thing ;).

I choose to re heat my oats, and add almond milk and blueberries. It was a filling and tasty breakfast. I also had one whole egg and 4 egg whites on the side.
