Fitness Friday!!

Good Morning Everyone!

It may be Friday, but that is no excuse to throw your clean eating and training out the window for the weekend. Treat everyday the same, whether it is a week day or the weekend. This has been one of the keys to my success. I used to workout hard Monday to Friday and would allow myself the weekend to eat whatever I wanted and if I actually worked out, it was a miracle. This was one of the reasons I could never reach my goal, because all the hard work I had put in during the week, I would throw it out the window on the weekend.

Now, I don’t treat the weekend any different than a weekday. The only day I usually take off is Sunday, and that day usually consists of a nice leisurely walk outside with my dogs! Exercise doesn’t have to feel like a chore. You don’t have to spend your Saturday staring at dumbells, go tobogganing, take your dog for a walk, go for a walk with your spouse (and children if you have them), go skating, skiing, snowboarding or swimming! So get out and do something fun this weekend!

This is a great picture and quote to go along with my Fitness Friday theme!

I thought I would include a simple recipe for a meal I ate yesterday. I believe in keeping eating clean simple and delicious.

1. Grill chicken breast and asparagus.

2. Cook brown rice, using either a rice cooker or stove top.

3. Add 1/2 tsp of low sodium soy sauce and 1/2 tsp of sriracha to the rice if you wish.

I like to cook about 8 chicken breasts, 2-3 stalks of asparagus and 2-3 cups (dry) of rice at a time. This usually lasts about 2-3 meals and relieves me from cooking every meal.

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!
