Well I am feeling much better today. All I am left with is a runny nose, and that I can deal with. Resting is not my strong suit when I am sick, so I kept myself busy today, washing windows, doing laundry, baking, making a great lunch and supper, packing a lunch for work tomorrow, oh and lets not forget weight training at lunch and P90X Plyometrics tonight (so much for “getting my rest”). I find if I dwell on the fact of being sick, the longer it takes me to get better (I also may be a tad stubborn and refuse to rest).
Anyways…we wanted a change of pace from the treadmill and elliptical tonight, so like I mentioned above we did P90X Plyometrics. I completely forgot how challenging this work out was. If you workout from home and want a great home workout program, I would strongly suggest P90X. It is a 12 week program, and if you follow it along with a clean eating plan you should be able see some great results. It is also great if you are new to weight lifting or working out in general, or uncomfortable working out in front of others. You can work out at your own pace in the comfort of your own home.
I made a quick & easy lunch and supper today, using the same recipe for both meals.
Spicy BBQ Chicken
5 oz chicken breasts
Amazing Dad’s BBQ sauce
Sriracha Hot Sauce
Mrs. Dash – Spicy
I chose to cook my chicken on the BBQ, but can also be cooked in the oven.
1) Place chicken on BBQ at medium heat.
2) Flip over halfway through cooking.
3) When the chicken is almost cooked place all spices, a small dab of BBQ sauce and as much Srirach Hot Sauce as you would like.
I served the chicken I made at lunch with spinach salad and broccolini, and supper with asparagus, zucchini, mushrooms, and brussel sprouts cooked on the BBQ, and kale chips.
If you cook in the oven, make sure to defrost chicken breasts ahead of time, and place spices, BBQ sauce and Sriracha on before placing in the oven.
