Fish, Pony, Hip, Hip Hop………….

I am not sure why that came to mind when I thought about posting about the fish I had tonight, but I made myself giggle which isn’t hard. If you haven’t seen Big Daddy with Adam Sandler, that is where this funny little quote comes from (If you haven’t seen it, you are probably not giggling along with me). Anyways, I had some tasty fish tonight and thought I would share the recipe with you all.

Breaded Tilapia

4 fillets of Tilapia (that’s how many I had on hand)

1/4 cup egg whites

1 tsp lemon juice

1/4 cup oat bran

2 tbsp ground flaxseed

2 tbsp wheat germ

1 tbsp ground almonds

1/2 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

dash of sea salt

(you should be able to find all of these ingredients at your local grocery store)

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2) Pour egg whites and lemon juice into a bowl

3) In another bowl mix all other ingredients together

4) To batter the fish, coat each fillet in the egg white mixture and then place in bowl with the breading mixture. Make sure the fish is completely coated and place on a baking pan.

4) Cook for 25 minutes.

*I use this recipe for chicken as well.


Just when you thought I was finished…..I thought I would share an obsession of mine, Tea. Tea makes my world go round. When I am craving something, when I’m cold (which is very frequent), or need an after dinner treat, tea is my go to fix. I love finding new flavors of herbal or caffeinated (everybody needs a pick me up) tea. Below are the flavors I currently have and am loving them!

Also, for some people the thought of drinking copious amounts of water is nauseating, so a great addition to your water bottle is adding your favorite bag of tea. Adding fruit to your water is another delicious way of naturally flavoring your water.

Making small healthy changes in your life slowly, can be the key to success. I know it worked for me. Cutting out all my bad habits cold turkey was not the key for me. I made one change at a time, either it be adding something healthy to my diet or cutting something harmful out. Choose one habit to make or break each week, and you will be on your way to a happy healthy you!
